Wind River
The gravesite and a monument honoring Sacajawea is located just outside of Fort Washakie, 20 minutes north of Lander.
South Pass City
South Pass City, Wyoming's "City of Gold". South Pass City has been faithfully restored to the period of it's last big gold rush during the late 1800's.
Atlantic City
10 miles east of South Pass you will find Atlantic City and the areas only food and beverages. Arriving on horse is optional. |
Lander
Sinks Canyon State Park is a short beautiful 20 minute drive from downtown Lander, WY. There are several good hiking trails and off course world class climbing.
Popo Agie Falls is a 45 minute hike from the Bruce's Bridge parking area at the top of Sinks Canyon. This view is from the Middle Fork Trail. The Loop Road
The Loop road takes you into the start of the high county and lets you access Fry Lake, Worthen Meadows Reservoir, Fiddlers Lake, Louis Lake and the trailheads to the Popo Agie Wilderness. Red Canyon

Museum of
The Museum of the American West (MAW) is part of a museum complex that includes a living history village, a county-owned museum, a picnic pavilion, an outdoor performance arena. A creek flows through this site along which there is a walking path that will take you to a xeriscape garden.
During the summer months there are Willie's Handcart Memorial
Willie's Handcart Memorial is located near Atlantic City Wyoming along the many historic trails that pass close to here including the Oregon and Mormon Trails. Wyoming Game and Fish Lander Office
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Lander office has several beautiful displays featuring our native animals and landscapes. Less than a half mile from the Holiday Lodge. Well worth going to see and it's FREE. |
